How MORPHE Works

Every claim is sourced. Every source is linked. Every month, we re-verify.

What This Is

MORPHE is a free, open-source biology education platform for expecting parents. It covers human development from fertilization through birth — deeper and more rigorously sourced than any pregnancy app or website available today.

It is not a medical app. It does not track you. It does not sell your data. It does not have ads. It exists to help expecting parents understand what is happening inside them, with real science, real sources, and real care.

How Content Is Created

Every factual claim on MORPHE is traceable to a primary source: a peer-reviewed journal article, a medical organization guideline (ACOG, WHO, CDC, AAP, NICE, RCOG), or a standard clinical textbook.

The content creation process:

  • Research: 170+ sources across 59 unique domains were consulted during the original content build
  • Auditing: 27 scientific audit corrections were made across the 7 phase pages, each verified against primary literature
  • Inline citation: Every claim links to its source. You can click and verify yourself — you don’t need to trust us
  • Monthly re-verification: On the 1st of each month, all medical claims, statistics, and crisis hotline numbers are re-checked against current sources. Medical knowledge evolves. Our content evolves with it.

What We Don’t Do

  • No named medical reviewer — We chose a different model. Instead of one doctor reviewing content once, every claim links to its primary source and is re-verified monthly. You can check any claim yourself. The sources are the authority, not a name on a page.
  • No accounts — We never ask who you are
  • No cookies — Zero. Not even “necessary” ones
  • No tracking — The only analytics is Plausible (cookieless, <1KB, open-source, GDPR-compliant). It tells us page view counts. It cannot identify you.
  • No data collection — Tool data (kick counter, contraction timer, nutrition checklist) stays in your browser’s localStorage. It never leaves your device.
  • No ads — Ever
  • No paywall — Everything is free

Who Built This

MORPHE was built by Sudip Shrestha (Light) in Ottawa, Canada. The content was researched, written, audited, and verified using Claude (Anthropic) as a research and development tool — with every output verified against primary sources by the builder.

The project is open source under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Anyone can read the code, fork the project, translate it, or adapt it for their community.

Why This Exists

Because an expecting parent at midnight, anxious and searching for answers, deserves better than ad-supported content that sells their pregnancy data to third parties. Every major pregnancy app has been sued, investigated, or exposed for privacy violations. MORPHE is built on a different foundation: collect nothing, source everything, and treat parents like the intelligent, capable people they are.
